With the popularity of drone training, more and more people regard drone pilots as their own profession. Plant protection flight defense is different from aerial photography, and has high requirements for pilots. Pilots are required not only to understand flight control You must also understand plant protection. In plant protection aerial defense operations, people play a decisive role. No matter how advanced the flight control is, the importance of plant protection pilots cannot be ignored. Not all drones that can fly are called plant protection drones, and not all pilots are called plant protection pilots. Plant protection pilots must be able to complete the mission of precise flight defense operations. Therefore, to become a qualified plant protection pilot, one must have a high sense of responsibility and professional professionalism.
1. Basic knowledge about drones.
It doesn't matter whether you are flying a gasoline-powered UAV or an electric UAV; whether you are flying a multi-rotor plant protection UAV or a helicopter plant protection UAV. The professional knowledge of the aircraft we fly should be mastered. We don't need to master it in detail like developers, but the more basic knowledge we master, the better. For example, the flight principle of the corresponding model; a small amount of aerodynamic knowledge; this knowledge can allow you to bomb fewer planes than others, fly more safely, and respond to emergencies more reasonably and quickly. For example, if you have a deep understanding of "the relationship between the descent speed and stability of a multi-rotor UAV", you will not do such things as descending at a speed of 6 m/s or 8 m/s.
2. Knowledge about UAV assembly.
It is not required that you can assemble the drone you are using from start to finish, but what are the main accessories of the model you are using, where is it installed, and what is its function. If the plane is abnormal, you must at least know how to check and where to exclude it. Otherwise, in the remote wilderness, it is extremely unprofessional and unrealistic to call after-sales service. If you know the principle and accessories of the aircraft you are flying, you can basically eliminate many problems based on abnormal conditions, and some simple problems can be easily handled. This not only reflects your professionalism, but also your wallet.
3. Exquisite flight control knowledge.
Many people think that the current plant protection drones provide AB point automatic flight, RTK mapping flight, and the operation is very simple. Put on the medicine, take a mobile phone and take off to get it done. If you think this way, let it go as soon as possible. It would be extremely irresponsible to leave a flight entirely to an automated flight program. Even if automatic flight can solve the problem most of the time, don’t forget that the geographical environment of plant protection flight is changeable, and automatic flight cannot solve the flight in all occasions. At critical times, people still need to take over. What is superb? If you don't want to think about driving, don't you want to experience the realm of the unity of man and car. Why some people can drive the car to 150 yards on the highway, but dare not move in the city.
4. Relevant meteorological and agricultural knowledge.
Since ancient times, there has been a saying that agriculture depends on the sky. No one can defeat nature, we can only try to avoid it. You must have a basic understanding of what is the suitable temperature and weather for spraying chemicals, the impact of weather on drones, the impact of weather on pesticides, and what weather conditions can do what.
Basic knowledge of pesticides. What kind of medicine is used for what crops? How are pesticides formulated? What concentration is most effective? How high does it work best? In the vanguard service system, although pilots do not need to fully grasp these knowledge, how much they need to know depends on who is caring and not caring.
5. Professional qualities.
Doing plant protection is a relatively hard job. When I am busy, I work outside for a long time, exposed to wind and sun, and even work at night. The conditions are relatively difficult. But since you choose this profession, you should overcome these difficulties and make flight defense professional and perfect. For example: understanding of the ground conditions before operation, ground identification marks to prevent spraying leakage, reasonable planning of routes, etc.; cleaning and maintenance of drones after the operation, investigation of the prevention and control effect of the operation field, timely respraying, etc., all of which are Part of the professionalism of a professional pilot.
